Few people believe it until they try it, but garlic and chocolate are a match made in heaven.
First, roast Elephant Garlic per recipe instructions here.
Choose a favored bar of plain sweet or dark chocolate, preferably a quality gourmet variety. Do not use unsweetened baker's chocolate.
Mash the roasted, peeled garlic cloves, and spread on sliced french bread.
Break pieces of chocolate up and place on bread in garlic spread.
Toast bread in 450 degree oven for a few minutes until chocolate has melted. Remove from oven, and with a knife, spread melted chocolate evenly over bread and garlic.
Serve while still warm.
Eat while still warm, as a snack, side, appetizer, or dessert. You may also refrigerate and reheat in an oven or toaster oven later, but it is much better when first made.
You won't believe how good this is until you try it.
